Our winters in FL are a type of vacation. But you even tire of FL in winter after awhile. We have many FL friends who are 100% retired and a few who do part time stuff like we do.

These 100%retirees take vacations from retirement, as being retired is really quite exhausting. All the playing that goes on. Its like kid camp living for adults … when in an over 55 community.

When you consider a good kids camp can go $10k for the summer, $6k per year for hoa fees, for an over 55, is really a bargain, especially for a 2 person household. No chores, swimming, golf, pickle ball, tennis, gym, line dancing , spin class, ohh my …. massage and body sculpting are extra. There are things to do at night, we turn in by 8. Don’t tell anyone.

You can see how busy one is in retirement. You really do need a break. Cruising is big here, as is a trip somewhere north in the summer because its too damn hot here.

This will be our first stab at a vacation from vacation. Ours will have a different name – Road Trip. We are not really well practiced at the formality of planning. I actually dislike planning, as it places burden, expectations and a takes 50% of the fun away. I want the experience, the battle of immediate choice. No, I’m not a hippie … just honest, just a bit of planning for us, thx.

We need a good buggy, a wallet, cell phone, warm weather and our Marriott rewards number. Then we need golf clubs, PB paddles, shorts and sneakers.
We’ll look at a map and take the rest as it comes.
