Suki stayed home this spring.

2015 started with a bang, it started to snow and didn’t stop for 6 weeks, it made the dog walks onerous, almost impossible. Back in 2014, Suki’s human sister had a baby,  so Suki had spent a lot of time visiting Sturbridge in 2014 and being bothered by Charlie, while her mother worked.

Suki, a black lab, happy to a fault, was really happy to stay in Maine, content to hang out and eat all the Cheerios that fell on the floor.  Charlie the Border Collie missed having Suki to hang around with,  he was able to get over it but he made his parents go on many, many walks.

I am not sure who needs who more, Charlie or us.  I believe we have become a little wacky or hyper-focused on the that creature, I am convinced he understands words , can decipher a sound and whether the sound should have meaning for him.  He is the force that makes us have to do something, like go for a walk, get fresh air, play or get exercise.  He really pushes us to be more, get more etc..

Charlie is in a long line of animals that has lived with us, he really isn’t even the best Border Collie we’ve had, but since we got him from a shelter and because his last home was a Condo and he had a story … well it has worked out well.

He makes us write stories at 4 am, he loves to come find you and see what you are up to, he really loves to visit the day care across the field, he hears kids playing and invites himself over.

Charlie really misses Suki and sharing his room, I think Suki prefers Maine, Cheerios and lobster rolls.

Charlie has a new hang out on Cape Cod this year, but that’s a story for another day.  Although, he does like the beach, bike rides and going for ice cream.

I am definitely losing it … Apollo is just shaking his head, Poppy would have pummeled him, Sam puppy would have made him his assistant, Lucy would have asked for her own room and Simon would likely have been his friend.
