to turn 50 …

It has been about a month, I actually turned 50 in mid July… No fanfare.  Normally the big birthdays are a party, but by the 5th person asking SK about a party, well that was the end, no party.  She would not have any of that.  We may have my 50th party when I am 51.  (Actually If I had my druthers, I would have a funeral / eulogy / roast.  That would likely be very entertaining.)

But in the modern world, we had a virtual party, the text messages were rampant, the VM and 1 ring calls were steady.  I might have to admit it was almost as good as getting together.  Hope was right on top of it, Kelley sent the best picture text, Graeme was first, (he understands the early morning, or is under an enormous amount of stress),  Josh was on it by 8:30 and Sam K called to discuss what a great day July 15th is …  because someone was born that day…   Robco remembered, Bill, Tom and many more kept it going.  Smartphones make it easy, efficient and very enjoyable.

A smartphone birthday is really a Howard Theory.  Straightforward, fun , efficient and  profitable.  This time emotionally profitable, not monetary.
